One of our last stops while camping were the tide pools. We tried going after church on Sunday, but missed the low tide. We had to go back on Monday morning at 7am in order to catch the low, low tide. Of course Z decided to sleep in and we almost missed our chance. We thought it was going to be real windy, but the weather surprised us once again. Cool and calm.
We were able to see tons of starfish, sea anenomes, muscles (or barnacles) and crabs. It was fun exploring the pools. We did find one large crab, but we couldn't get to it. We tried capturing it for lunch. Not really, but it would have been fun. This is Papa J's catch of the day. He finally snagged a crab and when he did, the sucker pinched him real good. So good that he flicked his fingers and released the crab to later find him on the ground with a broken arm. Poor crab. He was just scared. Papa J really didn't mean any harm. But he now is able to pose for our lovely picture. Thank you for sacrificing your life Mr. Crab. We owe you.
Z enjoyed the hands on experience and found the anenomes to be "sticky." She kept wanting me or Papa J to touch them first.
