Exhausted.

This little girl is keeping me on my toes.

Last week after talking with a friend and feeling real motivated, I decided to start potty training Z. I knew she was ready. She's been ready for awhile, but lets face it, I was being lazy. (Tips to first time moms: you know your child is ready when they poop, take off their diaper and proceed to clean themselves or when they tell you they've peed on Pooh Bear or Elmo.)

The first couple of days were frustrating. Now looking back I think it was probably due to the fact that we were inside all day. Something both of us are not used to. I could have made it easier on the both of us if I just let her watch a movie, but I didn't want to resort to that, at least not yet. So we had a couple of accidents and a few tantrums and I was ready to give up. Z wasn't. She kept bringing me her panties and wanting to wear them. Okay, I thought, I've got to do this and not look back. I'm happy to say things are going real well. I think after two days we finally got used to being indoors.

So today I actually left the house after giving myself the excuse that I needed to go to Target. I haven't been there in a couple of months and I've missed it. So off we went. I was a little worried about the potty training, but figured we have to get used to being outside of the house again. That was not the problem. Z was all. over. the. place. And in to EVERYTHING. Again I think it's because we haven't really been out. She needed to run and what a better place than Target. Well I survived and then feeling a little adventurous we headed over to Costco.

Wow! I need to get out again. That three hours was exhausting. When we got home I was hoping all three of us would be napping. Not the case. Unfortunately we passed the nap time and so we compromised with a movie. I really needed the quiet time to recuperate, get some apartment work done and write down my adventurous morning.

Oh and I haven't showered for the day. How 'bout that.

I only get to shower when Eric get's off work. It is sooo different having 2 babies instead of just 1.
Congrats on the potty training. Z is so cute.

ummm...I usually don't get to showering until the afternoon and I've only got one kid. And yesterday, I didn't shower until 7pm! So props to ya! And good job on the potty training, way to go Z!

That sounds a lot like my life. Only it's a little harder with a newborn. Glad the potty training is going well. She sounds like she's really ready.

You're brave! Nice work. Movies are always great when you need the break. Don't feel bad about it, sometimes you gotta do what ya gotta do!
