My first mistake was letting Papa J go to the store. You never know what he's going to purchase and how much it's going to cost.
As he was about to slice up the watermelon he had just bought, he said out loud, "I hope this is good because you don't want to know how much it cost."
"Hmmm", I thought. I quickly grabbed the receipt and took a look.
My reaction to the amount, "What? You've got to be kidding me!"
Papa J's response, "It's organic."
In turn, "It better be good."
So he finished slicing the sucker up and we all tasted it to see whether or not we got our money's worth. Was our watermelon worth the $16 we paid? Every penny. I have not tasted a watermelon so sweet and delicious. Plus we have some very memorable pictures to go along with it. Now I will not continue to pay for watermelons at that ridiculous amount (.69/lb), but I'd rather pay for one healthy watermelon over any other junk they sell at the grocery store. My families health is worth it.
So after we shared our amazing watermelon with some neighbors, we caught Z snagging some of the leftovers. She seriously couldn't get enough. But instead of asking us to cut some up for her, she decided to go at the entire quarter.

After taking several pictures of her eating the enormous slice, I decided I'd rather get some video footage because sometimes pictures just aren't enough. I really needed the full effect of her chomping down. You'll see.

Thank is too much! Look how serious she is, she's going to town.
That is too much. Look at her going to town and so serious! I love it!
So that would be her piece now! Nice way of marking territory. ; )
Did she breathe? So funny!
I'm glad the watermelon tasted so good. Sometimes it's hard to find a good one. Maybe I should try organic too, just not for that much.
the best is her smelling her hands at the end!
AS much as I hate to admit it, organic does taste better for a lot of things. I just wish it didn't hurt so much to buy it!
We are watching Shark Week, day 3, and Jeremy was awesome!
we have 4 watermelons growing in our garden, can't wait to see if they taste as good. Z may have to come down to try them out for us... hint hint.
Wow. Sixteen dollars.
K, I just watched that video (cuz now we can actually see them on our computer)....HAHAHAHA! Isn't it awesome to see our children enjoy pure food?!
