Yep. We got a hampster. And only a 3yr old could come up with a name like Waddle B Diddle B Daddle. Papa J's sister had an extra hampster and saw how Z was in love with them, so she offered us one. I was hesitant (still am), but it's been fun. Cici won't hold him, but loves to watch him and pet him. Z loves holding him, letting him run around allowing him to get lost in our couch, and just plain loves him. I'm surprised at how gentle she is with him, yet there are still times when Papa J or I will have to correct her.
I'll admit he's kinda cute. And if Z's happy, then so am I.

I think a hamster is a great first pet for a child and it's obvious she loves him. We always had some type of rodent pet when I was growing up. They are fun.
We've had a chinese dwarf hamster since Christmas, and he is the best pet you could have. Fun but so easy to take care of. And he doesn't stink :) We gave ours a shorter name, though. Not as fun as w b d d. That is awesome.
He's cute! You're such a nice mom. Don't know if I'm up to having a pet yet.
