For the bride.

Not only is today Fat Tuesday, but today my friend got married. I've had lots of friends get married, but this friend has been with her man for 9 years and it's about time they tied the knot.

To celebrate this wonderful occasion, we had a formal tea party a couple of weeks ago. We looked at local tea houses, but decided to have it at a friends home to have it be more intimate. We even used my friend's fancy china and I think the place settings were perfect.

For food we went traditional with crumpets, triangle sandwiches, scones, fruit and salad. And for dessert we had petit fours. It was all delicious including the assortments of teas we had: peppermint, passion, blueberry, and ruby red chai.

I was asked to do some decorations last minute and after searching the internet (thank you technology!) I found some cute ideas with doilies. First I made a simple banner using the doilies and Martha Stewart letters. Then I made a simple garland to string over the paper dress I made. But what I loved the most was the garland made from baby's breath that hung perfectly over the doorway. I think it turned out simple and cute especially since it was done the day before.
